Heather Levy is a senior associate with Cascadia Consulting Group. Prior to joining Cascadia in 2015, Ms. Levy worked for 18 years as a management and technology consultant helping clients execute on their most strategic initiatives. She has worked across the country in a wide range of industries and sectors, including waste management, high-tech, retail, e-commerce, insurance, and pharmaceuticals. Through these experiences she has acquired expertise in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and whole systems thinking. Levy is also a former chair of the Seattle Public Utilities Solid Waste Advisory Committee, sits on the Washington State Organics Contamination Reduction Workgroup, and serves on the Washington Green Schools board of directors.
Over the past year, Levy has been assisting the Foodservice Packaging Institute’s Paper Recovery Alliance (PRA) and Plastics Recovery Group (PRG) in its efforts to increase recovery of compostable foodservice packaging through commercial composting. During this 15 minute presentation, Levy will present Cascadia’s findings from a literature review recently conducted on behalf of PRA and PRG, in partnership with SPC and the US Composting Council’s Compostable Products Task Force, regarding the impacts of compostable foodservice packaging at different points in the composting supply chain, in the following topic areas:
