Phil is the Director of Sustainability and Marketing for NOVOLEX. Day to day he is responsible for sustainability programs; brand management; marketing communications; public relations and community outreach programs. As a director of sustainability he launched the “Gray is the New Green” plastic retail bag, the first branded plastic retail bag to be made from recycled content. Over the past seven years he has helped guide NOVOLEX to move plastic retail bag manufacturing from 10% to 30% recycled content. Phil has helped establish NOVOLEX as a leader in sustainable packaging across paper and plastic substrates with programs focused on developing and launching packaging products that perform in the areas of composting, recyclability, recycled content and low impact lifecycles. Phil is a St. Louis area resident; graduate of Washington University in St. Louis Olin School of business; retired Air Force Officer with cultural exposure to more than twenty countries and a fluency in Chinese Mandarin.
