Laurette Hall has served Mecklenburg County as an Environmental Manager for the past eighteen years. Her primary responsibility is the reduction of business and residential from landfills. She has participated in the development and implementation of several waste reducing programs in Mecklenburg County, such as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System recycling program; business recycling law; and single stream residential curbside recycling program. Her team’s current challenges include the expanding the recovery of recyclables from multi-family and single family recycling programs and organics diversion and recovery programs.
She holds undergraduate degrees from Alabama A&M University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Laurette holds a graduate degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Denver. She is a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America and is past president of the Carolina’s Recycling Association.
