John Mulcahy is Vice President of Sustainability for Georgia-Pacific Consumer Products LP, where he is responsible for the sustainability and corporate social responsibility programs for both our Consumer and Professional businesses. John works to develop collaborative relationships with our customers, helping them to achieve their sustainability objectives by developing insights, building cost and value advantages into our products, and providing assurance that GP is a responsible and ethical supplier.
John serves in a leadership capacity for several industry associations, including the Foodservice Packaging Institute, the National Restaurant Association’s Conserve Sustainability Advisory Council, and The Sustainability Consortium. In his free time, John volunteers with The Boy Scouts of America and is on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Georgia. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two sons.
Why do you want to serve on the SPC Executive Committee?
Promote the societal value of packaging in protecting and promoting goods, consumer choice, ensuring hygiene, minimizing waste, facilitating transportation, and increasing convenience while optimizing its use through material selection and efficient design.
What can you contribute to the SPC Executive Committee?
Georgia-Pacific is one of the largest manufacturers of fiber-based packaging as well as one of the largest consumers of recycled fiber in the world. We work with many of the leading brands to meet their packaging needs.
